Ringing in the New Year

New Years WOD

My husband convinced me to ring in the new year at our Crossfit gym.  I did NOT want to go.  But I’m so glad I did.  We got to work out together with two of our friends on a team of four.  The workout was tough but it wasn’t all work and no play.  After each ofthe twelve rounds we took a shot of tequila.  It was a great way to ring in the new year.   It was an intense workout and as fitness dorky/crossfit culty as it seems, there were some real benefits to doing a WOD for new years eve.  I didn’t drink that much, we didn’t spend a ton of money and I woke up on New Year’s day a little sore with no hangover!  We were up late though and I think chicken wings were involved in our walk home…so I needed some detox new years day.  Luckily we had all of the ingredients for our pressure cooker chicken bone broth.

One organic whole chicken, cut up and meat sliced to expose the bones

6-12 organic chicken wings

1 bay leaf

1 organic carrot

2 stalks organic celery

1 organic onion

3-4 cloves garlic

1-2 teaspoons salt

Place all ingredients in pressure cooker and fill to top fill line.  Turn on, cook, drain and enjoy!
